Reading books and sharing them with fellow book-lovers have existed since time immemorial. But now a Facebook application has made it possible to see what your friends are reading and inform them not just about your latest read, but also post your reviews on the same. This is thanks to weRead that was started by Harish Abbott and Krishna Motukuri in 2007 in Bangalore.

Recently, Lulu.com, the online marketplace for self-published digital content, bought a controlling stake in the company for an undisclosed amount. Abbott points out, “weRead will now have access to all the books Lulu’s digital marketplace, thereby creating a much larger catalogue and a full range of independent authors.”
